On the May 17 episode of MBC’s “Point of Omniscient Interfere” (also known as “The Manager”), (G)I-DLE (now rebranded to “i-dle”), appeared as a full group. Here, as the girl group celebrated their comeback with their 8th mini-album “We Are” and title track “Good Thing”, the members opened up about their early struggles, shedding light on a previously unspoken chapter: internal conflict within the team.

In particular, leader Soyeon started the discussion by recalling a difficult moment with Shuhua, stating, “Shuhua once cried in front of me during her trainee days.” To this, Shuhua added, “I did so badly in an evaluation I almost gave up. I was so sad I kept sobbing, and Soyeon hugged me.”

However, the mood shifted when the topic turned to Miyeon, a former YG Entertainment trainee who trained alongside BLACKPINK members before joining CUBE. Soyeon admitted, “When Miyeon joined, it felt like she was replacing our main vocalists. We were cautious and even cold to her.”

Agreeing with this, Miyeon responded honestly, “You guys were definitely cold. Especially Yuqi** and Minnie.” Minnie didn’t deny it, laughing and implying that she felt threatened by Miyeon as she answered, “I was the worst. I was the main vocal and the eldest, and then someone the same age came in, also as a main vocal.”

Miyeon further revealed how her transition from YG to CUBE wasn’t easy. She stated, “I had spent about five years at another company. When I joined CUBE, these girls gave me the cold shoulder. Back then, if you weren’t in the debut group, you couldn’t even use electronics. But I said I couldn’t practice without a laptop, so they gave me one. And everyone was like, ‘How does she get to use a laptop on day one?'”

Then, a surprising detail came from Minnie, who revealed that Lisa (BLACKPINK), fellow Thai idol and Miyeon’s close friend from YG, reached out to her personally. “Lisa messaged me saying, ‘My friend is joining your company. Please take care of her’,” she revealed.

Miyeon, who heard this for the first time, felt touched and said, “I didn’t know that. That’s so sweet of her.”

It seems that despite the rocky start, (G)I-DLE members are now close and comfortable to openly reflect on the past and laugh about it. In fact, despite the members’ different personalities, they renewed their contract as a group, promising a long career.
